Reading the OKX fee tier page and checking which coin your trading fee was taken in
Find your current OKX fee level in the app, understand why spot and futures rates are listed separately, and confirm in order details which currency each fee was deducted in.
OKX | the reader's region | the reader's funding currency | application origin and signature checks
Fee confusion on OKX usually comes from two places. People read a rate somewhere and assume it applies to every product, and then they see the fee deducted in a coin they did not expect. Both have simple explanations once you look at the right screens. This guide shows where your own fee level lives, how to read it, and how to confirm in each order which currency the fee was taken in, so your baseline reflects your account and not a forum post.
Find your fee level
In the OKX app, open your profile and look for the fee rates or fee level entry; on the web it sits in the profile menu. The page shows your current level and maker and taker rates, with spot and derivatives listed separately. The trading fee rules FAQ explains what moves you between levels, such as trading volume or asset balance. Copy the rates and date into your notes.
Why spot and futures differ
Spot orders and derivatives contracts are separate products with separate fee schedules. Some pairs or promotions may have their own rates too, which the fee page or the pair information indicates. Comparing a spot rate with a futures rate is therefore meaningless. When you build a baseline, record the product type next to each rate.
Which coin the fee was taken in
Open order history, choose a filled order and look at the fee line. On a spot buy, the fee is often taken from the asset you receive; on a sale, from the asset you receive in return. This is why your balance of a newly bought coin can be slightly less than the order amount. Write the fee and its currency in your record so the totals reconcile.
Putting it together
For each order type you use regularly, note the product, maker or taker role, fee rate from your level page, and the actual fee and currency from order details. If the actual fee does not match the rate, check whether the order filled as taker or in several parts. Review the level page monthly, since your level can change.
Costs that the fee page does not show
Your fee level covers trading fees only. The spread between bid and ask, funding payments on perpetual swaps and network fees on withdrawals are separate costs that never appear on the fee page. Funding lines show up in bills under Assets, and network fees are displayed on the withdrawal screen at the time you send. Add them as separate columns in your baseline so you can see which part of your total cost actually dominates.
