Using the OKX app deposit screen: network choice, QR codes and memo fields explained

The deposit screen in the OKX app shows an address, a QR code and sometimes a memo, all tied to the network you select. What to check on each part of the screen and how to avoid the mistakes that leave deposits uncredited.

The OKX app's deposit screen is short, but every element on it matters. The address, the QR code and the memo all depend on the network you select first, and the sender has to match each of them. Most deposit problems that reach support come down to one of three things: a mismatched network, a missing memo or an address that was copied incorrectly. Knowing what each part of the screen means makes all three easy to prevent.

Open the right deposit screen

Tap Assets at the bottom of the app, then Deposit, and choose crypto rather than a fiat option. Search for the coin you are sending and select it. The app then asks for the network. Choose the one the sending platform will use, reading the name carefully, since some chains have similar labels. Some coins only have one network and others have several. If the network you need is not listed, do not send on a different one in the hope it will be credited.

Address and QR code

Once a network is selected, the screen shows the deposit address and a QR code that encodes it. If the sending wallet is on another phone, scanning the QR code avoids copying errors. If you are sending from the same phone, use the copy button and paste the address into the sending app, then compare the first and last few characters. Never type an address by hand, and never use an old address saved in a chat; open this screen each time to be sure it is current.

When a memo or tag appears

For some coins, the screen shows a memo or tag below the address, with a warning. That value tells OKX which account the deposit belongs to. Copy it separately and paste it into the memo, tag or destination tag field of the sending app. If the sender has no such field, check whether a different network without a memo is available for that coin. A deposit without a required memo will reach OKX but not your balance until support resolves it.

Track the deposit until it is credited

After sending, return to Assets and open the history to see the deposit appear as pending, then completed once enough confirmations are reached. The detail page shows the transaction ID, which you can check on a block explorer. If a deposit is confirmed on-chain but still not credited, contact support through the help chat in the app with the transaction ID, coin, network and amount. For a new sending route, start with a small amount.

Scenario checkpoint

  • Choose crypto deposit, the exact coin and the network the sender will use before copying anything.
  • Scan the QR code from another device or use the copy button and compare the address ends.
  • Paste any memo or tag into the matching field of the sending app, or pick a network without one.
  • Follow the deposit in Assets history and contact support with the transaction ID if it stalls.
